Whether or not you believe the rumors regarding new titles being on the way, it’s safe to say that a lot of Silent Hill fans would probably really appreciate being able to play the games on something newer than a PlayStation 2 at the very least. Skateboards, toys, sweaters, lots of merchandise in general, but thus far the only game-related content we’ve gotten (besides characters guest appearing in other franchises) was the re-release of Silent Hill 4: The Room on GOG back in 2020. Original story: Amongst Konami’s recent (if sporadic) revival of Silent Hill as a brand, there has been an absence of the games themselves. So I guess that’s the announcement: soon you’ll be able to buy these old games for Steam but at a place that’s not Steam, but they’ll still be Steam keys. This means that the #SilentHill that was mentioned in the post will, in fact, just be the broken and overpriced Silent Hill: Homecoming port from 2008. The vague wording has led to many fans (including us obviously) to misinterpret the marketing campaign. This ad on Instagram was to announce plans to sell pre-existing Steam games on their stupid Konami Shop website, cutting out the middle man I suppose. So it turns out, no, Konami is not bringing new titles to Steam. Update: Ah, we forgot who we were dealing with here for a sec.
